You Were Always In My Heart {A Giveaway}

Since beginning our adoption journey, I have amassed quite the collection of books on adoption and adopted related topics. We want to be as educated and well versed as possible, and for our type A personalities, a bunch of books makes us feel like we're on our way to being just that.

I did wonder a little bit about children's books regarding adoption, knowing that they'd be good to read to Gunner, Titus, and any other future kiddos who will undoubtedly know that adoption is a part of our family's story. So, I made a trip to our local bookstores to find a few children's resources, but was sad to come up with almost nothing.

Luckily, this month, Tommy Nelson offered to send me this book, You Were Always In My Heart, by adoptive parents Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman.

You Were Always In My Heart is an endearing story inspired by the Chapman's adoption of three little girls from China. Told from the point of view of a little ladybug, Dot, who happens upon a mysterious baby bundle one day. Dot goes with this little bundle as she is taken to the place “where babies come to be found” and promises to stay with the little one throughout her journeys toward finding a forever family.

This book is absolutely adorable and shines such a sweet light on adoption. We've already read it to Gunner a few times (he loves Dot, the ladybug) and I can't wait to read it to Titus when he comes home.

Today, one of you has the chance to win a copy of You Were Always In My Heart. If you're adopting or know someone who is, this would be perfect for you. And if you don't have any connections to the adoption process? Maybe you could donate it to your local library. I know there are tons of other parents out there who would love access to adoption books.

Giveaway ends Saturday, June 29th at 12:00 am CST. Giveaway is open to US residents only.
