A Trip To The Fire Station

I would be remissed if I did not mention the horrible tragedy that occurred during the Boston Marathon yesterday. Cody used to run triathlons when we were dating and during those years I attended a few. I remember patiently waiting for him at the finish line. I remember being so proud as I watched him cross the finish line. That's what those people were doing yesterday. Waiting. Proud. And then...Fear. Destruction. Devastation.
My prayers are with the victims. My prayers are with the families of the victims. My prayers are with the witnesses. My prayers are with the police officers, paramedics, and other first responders...they cannot unsee what they witnessed. Let us share the love and hope that is in Jesus Christ. In times like these and for always. xo

This past Thursday through Sunday, Cody worked four twenty-four hour shifts in a row. I won't lie, it was rough at times, but we did a lot of things...play dates, toddler time at our local activity center...to make the time move a little bit faster.

We also made a fun trip up to the fire station (which included a 45 minute drive of constant crying..yay!) to see Cody and it was the first time that Gunner really seemed to enjoy the whole environment. He put on quite the show for all of the guys and LOVED the time we spent looking at the fire trucks. He spent most of his time pointing at and reaching for everything (as seen in the pictures); but luckily, I was able to catch a few cute pictures. We'll definitely be printing and framing these.
