Copycat Linkup {5}

Hi friends! I'm back from my mini blogging break and we're back with another week of Copycat Linkup. I hope you had a beautiful Christmas with your family and friends, we certainly did. The past few days have left me feeling incredibly blessed.

This week, Brittany of Naturally Estes is co-hosting with us. Brittany is a fellow Texas girl like me and we officially met when we attended Influence Conference together. Mary, Brittany, and I all met at Influence and were pretty much inseparable the rest of the weekend. Brittany is hilarious and the super momma of four precious kiddos. Check out her blog. I know you'll love her as much as I do.
If you're new to this whole thing and not exactly sure what this linkup is all about, here it is in a nutshell...Take style inspiration from anything -- Pinterest, a magazine, an advertisement, your favorite fashion blogger, ANYTHING -- and transfer that inspiration into your own style using pieces that you currently own. Simple and fun, right? If you'd like, you can read more about my original purpose and inspiration, here

I knew that this week's outfit needed to be simple and comfy as I'd be wearing it to a day after Christmas shopping trip. Plus, winter finally arrived in Texas on Christmas day with below freezing temperatures and snow. We don't mess around with weather in Texas...it's either unseasonably warm (I complained about mid-70's in December last week) or freakishly cold. So, I knew a warm sweater and boots were a must.

Here's this week's outfit inspiration...

Yes, I'm bringing back the army green vest again. When I love something, I really love it. This outfit was perfect for a shopping trip...comfy, but still put together. And great for the colder temperatures we're experiencing. Here's my copycat of the above look...

  Sweater: Target // Vest: repurposed jacket, read more here // Jeans: Levis from Kohls //
Boots: Target, bought several years ago // Glasses: c/o Firmoo

My sweater is a little different but achieves that same color blocked look. The girl is also wearing leggings in the inspiration picture but I knew I needed a little more warmth. Plus, I have a super strict rule when it comes to leggings as pants...my top MUST cover my booty. I think that's a rule everyone should follow. I did kind of get that bunchy jean look around my knees though...anyone have any tips on how to keep that from happening?

You can see Mary's copycat look for the week right here. And you can find Brittany's look right here. Also, don't forget to check out our Copycat Linkup Pinterest board where we'll be pinning all of your fabulous looks! I can't wait to see what you put together.
