Are you guys loving watching The Olympics as much as we are?
We pretty much have it turned on all day and we're always sure to DVR the evening events because those are usually the biggest, most important events.
So far my favorite events have been gymnastics, sand volleyball, and swimming. Cody is really excited for our marathon team. That sounds like I'm joking but I'm not. Cody loves the "sport" of running and knows all about our team and our chances to medal.
In Olympic and team USA spirit, I thought I would list the 5 things I love most about The Olympics:
1) The unity. I remember even in high school when I was busy running around with my friends, I was always at home with my parents during the Olympics. We all plopped down on the couch and rooted our teams on.
2) The camaraderie. Let's face it, there's a lot discord going on in our world and even in our country, but during the games that is put aside and we all tolerate each other for a series of days...even if the tolerance is only found in sports.
3) The athleticism. I used consider myself pretty athletic, I played sports throughout high school and played soccer competitively for a few years, but these people are crazy. I have so much respect for how hard they push their bodies and their minds in their sport.
What are your favorite parts about The Olympics?
Do you get excited about them or could you really care less?
