Patio Dreaming

In last week's iPhone Photo Dump, I mentioned that we had a construction crew in our backyard and posted a photo of our new concrete patio that measures 16 ft. x 22 ft. It is big, y'all! And we are so excited to host lots of cookouts and parties on it in the future.

Cody is currently building the cover for the patio. I, on the other hand, am dreaming of how we'll decorate the brand new space.

I want something simplistic, but still bright and fun. I also think a red and yellow combo transitions well from the spring/summer months (bright cheery yellow) to the fall (warm red) months.

During my dream planning (you know, the kind of planning that doesn't involve a budget), I decided to browse World Market's website and their outdoor furniture/dining/entertaining sections. The World Market in our city always has tons of fun, bright finds so I knew it would be the perfect place to plan my dream patio.

Here's the inspiration board that I put together...

1. I love the simplicity of this table. Lately, I've been all about clean lines mixed with more intricate patterns and design. I think when you keep those main pieces very clean, classic, and timeless, it's easier to change your design later using smaller accent pieces. (Find it here.)

2 & 5. I picture our patio having two different types of chairs. I like the Madras Solano chair (#2 - find it here.) for use at both ends of the table, the "head of the table" chairs. And I like the Laguna Side Chair (#5 - find it here.) for the others at the table.

3. My main pop of red! These seat cushions would tie onto the side chairs. (Find them here.)

4. I think these yellow throw pillows would be great in the Madras Solano chairs at the head of table, and since they're made with sturdy outdoor fabric, they could also be used on the ground as floor pillows. (Find them here.)

6. The dining table has a hole in the center for an umbrella, and even though our patio is going to be fully covered, I still think this yellow ikat print would be a fun pop of color. (Find it here.)

7. Lights around the edges of the patio cover are a must! (Find them here.)

8. And lastly, these cute embroidered napkins. Technically, they're kitchen towels, but I think they'd work just fine as napkins. (Find them here.)

......

Do you think those picks are as fun as I do? Many of the items are in sale so maybe I can convince hubby to go for some of them. World Market also runs tons of contests and sweepstakes on their Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest sites, so maybe I'll try and score a gift card (or two)!

Speaking of World Market's awesome contests, they're currently holding a sweepstakes called the Gourmet Getaway Sweepstakes through their Facebook page. I've most definitely entered because hello, this momma (and daddy) could use a couple getaway.

The Gourmet Getaway Sweepstakes runs through September 21, 2012, so you still have plenty of time to get your entries in! Even better, there will be three runner-up prize winners who will receive a $500 World Market gift card.

Now, here are the details on the grand prize package...

And don't forget to share the sweepstakes with up to five of your Facebook friends (via FB share or email) because you can receive five additional bonus entries! This will be part of your registration when entering, so it's super easy to share the sweepstakes right away. You can also enter daily for more chances to win.

So what're you waiting for? Go enter!! And remember me (and my patio) when you win!
