this and that.

If you watch the news (or read the news like me), you've heard about the Colorado wildfires. I can't imagine what it is like to lose your home to something like this, my heart breaks for those in Colorado. I also can't help but think about the hardworking firefighters. Their tired bodies, their worn down spirits. My husband can identify with that. And their families, oh their families, that are missing and worried about them. That worry and fear I can totally identify with.

We can most definitely send our thoughts and prayers to those in Colorado, but if you are interested in making a monetary donation, here is a great way...You can purchase one of several tshirt designs from this website and 100% of the proceeds go to benefit the Colorado wildfire victims. You can even purchase a shirt for a firefighter, an option that I totally love.

Sticking somewhat on the topic of firefighters, I am thinking about starting a firefighter wives feature on my blog. The feature would be a place where I could showcase fellow firefighter wives and their thoughts on being part of this lifestyle. Plus other info like where their husbands work, what their rank is, etc.

If you are a firefighter wife and are interested, please email me at texaslovebirds {at} gmail {dot} com. And if you happen to know a firefighter wife who might like to be featured, have them email me too! I think this could be a lot of fun, so I hope some of you may be interested!
I also wanted to say a big, huge thank you to all who left such great comments on my "Why Attack When We Can Build Up?" post. It was so refreshing to hear from other moms who feel the same way. To hear from other moms who agreed on no judgement, just support. Supportive women and mothers like all of you make those hater anonymous comments seem like no big deal, and I think that's the way it should be, so much support that the minor moments of criticism seem like nothing.

Seriously, go back and read some of the things other women and mothers wrote. There were funny things, encouraging things, and flat out "I couldn't have said it better" things.
You all are so awesome.
