Our Father's Day

We kept our Father's Day very low key in our camp. When I asked Cody what he really wanted to do he requested brunch, hanging out at home with our little family, and then a home cooked meal. He's a simple guy and I love that about him. We celebrated Father's Day on Saturday as our little family, so we could spend Sunday with our Dads.

When Cody got home from his shift at the FD, he took the dogs and G for a walk and then we went to brunch. After brunch, I ran a few errands while the boys took a nap at home. We spent the rest of the day playing around the house, cooked and ate dinner at home, put G to bed, and then Code and I settled in and watched a movie.

Gunner also tried rice cereal for the first time this weekend. His pediatrician gave us the go at his appointment on Thursday and I was excited to start trying it with him. G, on the other hand, was not as excited. He took in a little bit but most of it was spit out. Oh well, we'll try it again in a few weeks!

We visited and had lunch with Cody's parents on Sunday, came home for a few hours, and then went to the hospital in the evening to see my Dad and take him his gift.

Just a quick update on my Dad for those of you who have been praying for him...he will soon be moved to an inpatient physical therapy center, we're hoping that this will happen tomorrow. After spending six straight weeks in the hospital, and the multiple surgeries, my Dad has lost a lot of his strength so the goal is to help him get it back in the next two weeks. I so appreciate the prayers that you all have sent out on his behalf.

I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day, whether you celebrated with your husband or your own Dad. Did any of you do anything elaborate or take a fun trip to see family? I'd love to hear about it!
