Valentine's Day & A Baby Update

Happy Valentine's Day! Cody and I are spending the day seeing a movie and grabbing lunch before our little man is here. I can't believe that this time next year I will have two sweethearts to enjoy the day of love with.

If you read my blog regularly, you may know that me and our baby boy were scheduled to be induced on Wednesday, the 15th. So, yesterday, I went in for my final check hoping to receive more details about the induction.

However, at my appointment we were greeted with another surprise and found out that Gunner has turned AGAIN and is back in the transverse-lie-back position. If you're new around here you might not know that two weeks ago we found out he was in the transverse position, but were happy to find out last week that he had turned and was head down. Well, little man obviously likes to keep us on our toes.

Unfortunately, the transverse-lie-back position is the most unfavorable position for him to turn naturally or for him to be manually turned through the external version. After learning about the risks of the external version and listening to my mommy intuition, we decided that we would rather get this stubborn baby boy out via c-section. The c-section will be this Thursday, the 16th. As for G's stubborn personality and who it's coming from? I plead the fifth.

The one positive thing about finding out that he had turned again was that I got to see him one more time via sonogram. Cody was on shift at the fire station so he didn't get to see him, but we were able to get some good pictures. The best picture we got only shows part of his face (the other part is pushed against the placenta), but you can definitely see some cute chubby cheeks! (Sorry about the poor picture quality, I took a picture with my phone)

So that's what's up in our world. I'll be back tomorrow with one final post before D-day (delivery day). For now, I'm going to enjoy Valentine's Day with my sweet hubby.

What are your plans for Valentine's Day?
